This session examines the growing role of sustainable finance in driving Africa's energy transition. Experts will discuss innovative financing solutions for renewable energy projects, deployment of capital using green bonds, insurance risk, and the role of climate finance in supporting the transition and closing the finance gap that currently exists.  The session will also highlight nature-related risks and opportunities highlighting performance and disclosures as well as impact reporting.

  • What innovative financial instruments can be leveraged to accelerate renewable energy deployment? How can blended finance be effectively utilized to mobilize private capital? What role can impact investing play in driving sustainable energy development?

  • Type of transition finance instruments, blended finance solutions, and the role of development finance institutions (DFIs) in supporting the transition.
