Counsel A&O Shearman

Alexandra is a distinguished counsel in A&O Shearman’s Global Energy, Natural Resources, and Infrastructure (ENRI) group. With a robust focus on project finance and infrastructure finance, she brings extensive expertise in concessions, procurement programmes, public-private partnerships, and financings within the mining and energy sectors. 

 

Alexandra played a pivotal role in advising the South African Government on its Renewable Energy Independent Power Producers (REIPP) Procurement Programme. Over recent years, she has sharpened her skills in the developing private sector captive/off-grid power market, both within South Africa and across the continent. Her experience spans acting for both offtakers and independent power producers, showcasing her versatility and deep understanding of the sector. 

 

Additionally, Alexandra has provided strategic advice to Transnet, South Africa's rail, port, and pipeline company, on various concessions. Her exceptional contributions to the field have been recognised by respected legal directories such as Legal 500, IFLR 1000, and Best Lawyers.
