Arne Gibbs
General Manager ExxonMobil Moçambique, Limitada
Arne Gibbs is the General Manager & LCM for ExxonMobil Mozambique since April 2023. ExxonMobil has been operating in Mozambique since their acquisition of a share in Area 4 via MRV in 2017. ExxonMobil Mozambique is responsible for the Area 4 midstream operations, including Rovuma LNG projects and oversight of all EM operations and interests in country. He is also the General Manager (Midstream) for Mozambique Rovuma Ventures (MRV). MRV is a joint venture between ExxonMobil, Eni and CNODC that holds the primary concession contract for Area 4 gas fields in Mozambique, and is the Operator for the Area 4 assets. MRV delegates operations to Eni and ExxonMobil. He has been working for ExxonMobil interests in Mozambique since 2016. Firstly as part of the initial acquisition team, and then moving in country as the Commercial Manager as well as Joint Interest Manager, overseeing EM assets in Mozambique. Arne has worked for ExxonMobil since 2005. He has served in a variety of LNG and gas marketing and commercial roles within ExxonMobil, and has worked in London, Qatar, Houston and Mozambique. He has extensive experience in gas market short term sales and optimizations, long term pipeline and LNG sales, and gas business development and gas monetization. He was born in Campinas, Brazil, and lived overseas most of his life, including Portugal and Brazil and went to high school in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2000 and served in the US Army as an Armor/Military Intelligence officer. He currently lives in Maputo, Mozambique with his wife, Stacey, and three children.
