International Geothermal Association

The International Geothermal Association (IGA) is a non-profit, non-government, non-political, non-commercial organisation with ~7000 members and currently representing 88 countries worldwide with geothermal installed capacity. The IGA’s partners include The World Bank, IRENA, RREN21, UNECE, UN Climate Change COP, Global Geothermla Alliance, Greening the Islands, and teh Global Renewables Alliance. 
The IGA mission is to advocate for and promote the sustainable development of geothermal resources worldwide, with a commitment to shaping future where geothermal is a key contributor to the global energy transition and climate change mitigation. 
A multi-facted approach that incorporates training and capacity building, communication and outreach, geothermal standards and sustainability, and identifying finance and investment opportunities. This includes working with stakeholders and thought leaders not just in energy, claimte, or policy. Geothermal is a versatile source of baseload energy that requires the IGA to also work with staekholders from industries such as food and agriculture, health and well being, tourism, water and the environment, sustainable cities, communities, and planning, and energy justice.
